You’re expecting!! Congratulations! This news has inspired women around the world to take a hard look at the dietary choices they are making. If this is your first baby, you may be overwhelmed with the responsibility of providing nutrition to your unborn child for the first time in your life. So, what should you eat?

The first thing you need to understand is that hey: welcome to motherhood, your body is going to put your baby first from here on out. That means that for the most part, your baby is going to get what it needs from you to develop properly, regardless of what you eat. If you are experiencing morning sickness and having trouble eating anything healthy, this should put your mind at ease. The problem with this setup is that if you’re not providing your own body with the nutrients it is taking from you for the baby, you are going to start feeling bad. You’ll become a prisoner in your own body. Good nutrition will help free you from many of the annoying symptoms of pregnancy.

Protein is the building block of life. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, aim for at least 80 grams per day from lean meats or plant sources.
This means eating a source of protein with every meal.Vegetables have endless amounts of nutrients that are important during pregnancy and breastfeeding.


The biggest bang for your nutritional buck will be leafy greens, which have almost everything needed for your growing baby: calcium, folate, and iron to name a few. Pack these in to every meal and  load up on nutrients for you and your unborn baby.Up to 30% of your daily calories should come from healthy fats.
Omega-3 fatty acids are particularly important for your baby’s brain and eye development. Healthy fats help build fetal organs and the placenta, and provide energy. 
Calcium helps your body regulate fluids and builds baby’s bones and teeth. You need at least 1000mg per day. 
You should be getting at least 85mg of Vitamin C per day during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Vitamin C promotes tooth and bone development, and increases your absorption of iron.
Anemia is a common pregnancy condition that can make you feel exhausted, so make sure you’re getting both iron AND vitamin C to prevent it. 

Iron prevents anemia and helps increase your blood volume to supply oxygen to your unborn baby.
During pregnancy you need double the amount as before, about 27mg. 
​Vitamin D works with calcium to help form baby’s bones and teeth. You need at least 600 IUI’s per day from fortified milk, fatty fish, and sunlight.

Your macros will fall to 40% protein 30% Carbs 30% fat. This will help keep you fuelled and also help you shed unwanted fat to reveal your toned physique. If you're feeling stalled we can review your assessment and drop your carbs to raise your fat. 
Time your meals so you're eating every 3-4 hours. Try not to go longer than 4 hours without eating. if your hungry move your schedule up so your eating every 2.5 to 3 hours. 

-Drink up: you already know this but DRINK YOUR WATER. At least 1 gallon a day MINIMUM. ion you don't like the taste add lemon, lime, cucumber, berries, collagen, oranges, mint, lavender etc.
 Consuming large amounts of water over a short period of time can make you feel physically full and interfere with your eating plan; be sure to spread out your water and write it down in a food diary so you can stay on top of your intake.
